River Bluff Nursing Home is a very good institution. My wife is taking part in activities a little bit more than she did. She is having some difficulty walking, but they take care of her very well. The price is very reasonable for the care they’re giving her there. She has to share a smaller room with another patient, but we are going to move her to a private room.

Food is tolerable, but residents didn’t even get dessert for Thanksgiving! They are privately owned and have too many government inspectors in their pockets! Medical care is minimal, but the therapy division is actually quite good. Residents are never taken outside for sunshine and fresh air. Our service is 100% free to use - no hidden costs.

He even was allowed to bring his own big-screened TV and everything. He is a little diabetic, so he doesn’t want to walk around too much, but they had him going to therapy.
I think the food looks disgusting, but she doesn’t talk about it because she can’t. They do activities every day with the patients. They have exercises, like where they throw a ball around, they dance to music, and stuff like that. We are paid by our participating communities, therefore our service is offered at no charge to families. Staff will alienate families so they have control, and will force residents to sign paperwork they do not know what they are signing due to poor vision/hearing.
At the new facility they had her bed down on a mat so if she fell it was not very far. At East Bank they didn’t do that, I guess, so when she fell she’d end up in a hospital. They also didn’t keep it clean so it was an awful experience. It was the worst place that I ever had to deal with. The staff was very friendly, there might have been a couple that weren’t, but for the most part there were a couple that were very friendly.
Physical therapy I can’t say enough good things about them! Went on a tour and saw very friendly staff, with home community atmosphere.
We’re waiting for the room to be reconditioned to move her into that. The staff has been very good, but I had a little bit of a problem with a few of their new hires. My mom’s is at a thousand a month and my dad’s a 500 a month. Before we would use our GoodRx card at the pharmacy in town so it was a lot cheaper. Now it’s going to be a hundred thousand a year without the prescriptions for each one, plus everything else. It’s all a la carte in there so it’s quite expensive but I don’t know the prices of other places so I can’t compare. To me it’s very expensive, I would never want to end up there because all of our savings are going to be gone. It’s just sad because they worked so hard and I really wish that they didn’t go to a nursing home but that was my dad’s choice, instead of having personal care and nurses come to their house.
